Lens Crafters...

Philips has unveiled its new

According to articles at Slashdot and PalmInfocenter, Philips has unveiled its new "fluid lens camera technology" that has zero moving parts. This lens is supposed to replicate the mechanics of the human eye regarding focus and sight. Obviously, this technology is meant for the next generation of digicams and phone cams but I can't help wondering what the real implications are of being able to reproduce a more organic version of a complex human function. This is seems pretty nuts, I'm sure, but the voices in my head tell me that this is an amazing insight to the future happening now.
