Nader Anounces Presidential Run

Yup, that's right, that old dirty bastard—no not ODB from Wu-tang—but Ralph Nader made it official that he plans on satisfying his already inflated sense of self by running for president. He adds that Democrats shouldn’t worry about him stealing votes from them, because he is running as a national third party candidate.

Mmm, the voices in my head tell me that we should be open to as many political opinions as possible, that the more people we bring to the table the better the discussion and therefore the resulting actions will be for the country as a whole. I think that those little voices are correct. But I seem to recall a similar feeling in 2000, and look where that got us. Mister Nader is straddling a fine line between the ideological and practical well-beings of America. Moreover, he is sacrificing the nation’s well-being again, so that he can advocate and assert his own ideologies. Perhaps Nader should drop out of the race and leave the election in the hands of the people and not the Supreme Court.
