Where I get thoughts out of my head and down on paperless paper.
About the Photographs
These photos were taken using various camera types, film and digital. The stuff I shoot is pretty much abstracts and lanscapes. Every now and agian I snap a pic of a person but rarely. Obviously, I'm still an amateur but I feel that my work is consistantly improving. Here's a quick rundown on the tools of the trade: an old Minolta X370 SLR, an Olympus 35mm, a Nikon D70 (my main squeeze), a Sony P72 and even the camera on my Clie! Go check 'em out...

About Me
I am an East Coaster in his thirties struggling to survive in the Northwest without excess noise, air and environmental pollution. I traded the hip and hectic for the earthy and eclectic, my bagels and black & white cookies for books, brewpubs and great coffee. I am a former technologist and an official dot-com refugee who has landed on Portland's shores with more than 1000+ records (yes, records), far too many books, two precocious cats (aren't all cats precocious?) and an amazing woman to guide me through the foreign lands and customs of Oregon. In short, I am a stranger in a strange land.

About bloging
So why blog? Well, I put together this little blog as a writing tool to get my everyday thoughts out of my head and out into the general conversation. I see this blog as a place that serves several purposes: 1) to toss out some topics for discussion and 2) to write about the things that we see in the world around us 3) to shoot the shit and 4) to help keep in better touch with my people round the globe. I'll drop by with some regularity, so if you want to post comments to anything posted, please fell free to do so and I'll hit ya back as quickly as I can. Can you dig it? I knew that ya could.

Well that's all I got for right now. I'll talk to y'all later, ai-ight! Out.

-Duke.
